Successful Discharge Operation Completed by M/V Eems Sun at Port of Brightlingsea
Brightlingsea, UK – January 25, 2026 – Uniconnection Chartering & Ship’s Agency Limited is pleased to confirm the successful completion of cargo discharge operations by the M/V Eems Sun at Olivers Wharf, Brightlingsea.
The vessel arrived as scheduled from Gabes, Tunisia carrying 2,485 metric tonnes of bagged cement, with discharge operations commencing promptly upon berthing on January 24. Despite challenging winter weather conditions typical for the season, the operation was completed efficiently and safely within the planned timeframe.
All cargo was discharged to the open quay in accordance with port procedures, and the vessel’s movements along the quay were managed smoothly with pilotage support. Adverse weather conditions, including strong winds, were closely monitored, and sailing schedules were responsibly adjusted to ensure the continued safety of the vessel, crew, and port infrastructure.
Following completion of discharge, the M/V Eems Sun departed Brightlingsea on January 25 and is proceeding to its next port of call, King’s Lynn.
A big thank you to Derek Sands for his wonderful pictures and Jim Griffiths for his contribution to the title image! good work from both.
